BlueHost Review

Written by

PROS : Bluehost offers a refund system that lets you get refunds for any unused time whenever you cancel.

CONS : The Bluehost Starter hosting package does not offer unlimited space as offered by many comparable companies’ starter plans.

VERDICT : Bluehost supports an average number of subdomains and parked domains alongside common web hosting tools.

bluehostBluehost offers several shared hosting plans depending on how many websites or how much space you need. Bluehost’s Starter hosting package includes domain hosting services for one domain. You also have a limit of five parked domains and 25 subdomains. Parked domains let you use multiple domain names to load the same webpage, in case your business is transitioning company names or using multiple variations of the same domain. This is an average number of parked domains and subdomains included in starting plans offered by comparable companies. You can also opt to transfer a domain name you already own to use with the service.

You can select several add-on features when you initially sign up for this web domain hosting service. BlueHose offers domain privacy protection for an additional minimum monthly charge. This privacy feature replaces your personal information listed under your domain name’s public information with Bluehost’s information, hiding your name, address, email and phone number from public records.

Unlike other comparable companies, Bluehost does not list many of its features as unlimited. The Starter plan lists only bandwidth as an unlimited amount per month. Having a set number means you can actively manage your website, as every unlimited offer from comparable companies includes terms of service for excessive usage that can result in account suspension if you use too much of the company’s resources. Your account comes with 100GB disc space for hosting and storage and the option to host 100 email accounts through your website.

Bluehost offers a 30-day money back guarantee for its services; if you cancel within 30 days of signing up and decide not to use the service, you can cancel and receive a full refund. The 30-day guarantee period is an industry standard, although some comparable companies may offer several additional days. You can also cancel at any time after the initial 30 days and receive a refund for any unused hosting time you already paid for. Any domain registration fees, however, are not refundable.

Bluehost offers small businesses and individuals with single websites a great Starter package option for web domain hosting. You get an average amount of domain types, such as parked and sub domains, similar to what’s offered by comparable companies. The company doesn’t offer many unlimited features with its basic plan, but it does offer unlimited bandwidth and a fair 100GB of site space for hosting.
